0930 - 1130 generally overcast after torrential overnight rain, 15c. Good numbers of warblers along footpath : Blackcap 2, Lesser Whitethroat, Whitethroat, Chiffchaff 6+, Willow Warbler 5 incl 1 in sub-song, Sand Martin 2, Swallow 9, House Martin 5, then at 1115 a mixed flock of around 80 Swallows & H.Martins moving through to SE, Common Sandpiper over, Long-tailed Tit 12+, Great Tit 5, Blue Tit 4, Wren pair feeding 2 juvs, Robin 4, Dunnock, Starling 8, Blackbird 3f, Goldfinch 12+, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Jay, Magpie 10+, Carrion Crow 4, Jackdaw 3, Pied Wagtail 3, Collared Dove 4, Stock Dove, Feral Pigeon 3, Wood Pigeon 20+, Cormorant 2, Greylag 2, Canada's 100+, Heron 2, Mute Swan pair + cyg., Tufted 4, Mallard 80+, Moorhen 13, Coot 15, Lapwing 22, Lesser Black-backed Gull 11, Black-headed Gull 19, Buzzard. Probable Wheatear though distant, on post Barns Lane horse fields. (42 species).
