          More habitat loss.  The small area of oaks and blackthorn thickets at Wharf Approach (ramblers footpath) has been removed for warehousing. The site included a long standing viable colony of Purple Hairstreaks and a winter roost for Bullfinches and other finches, as well as many other interesting plants and insects now lost.

  Habitat loss.  The flooded field and marshy area near Ibstock Brickworks will shortly be quarried for brick clay.  The area is good for ducks, snipe and other waders.
